Malik MelhemChief Executive Officer
Malik Melhem is the CEO of REACH Employment Services, where he is responsible for leading the development and execution of REACH’s strategy and growth.
During his 15 years with REACH, Malik has combined his technical background with strong business and marketing experience to expand the company to its current position as a leader in the recruitment and outsourcing services. Under his guidance, Malik has initiated and led the sales forces of REACH in the Middle Eastern region.
Prior to working with the REACH Group, Malik held the role of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Manager at International Computers Limited, where he assisted with clients’ evaluation, development, and implementation of their Financial and Human Resources systems. Malik began his career as an Applications Consultant, leading and directing various HR and finance projects in Jordan and the UAE.
Malik holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hull in the UK. Malik has also completed a number of project management, recruitment and human resources training courses and workshops.
Dr. Karim El SolhCo-Founder, CEO and Managing Partner, Gulf Capital
Mr. El Solh is the Co-Founder and CEO of Gulf Capital and Managing Partner of the Private Equity Team.
Prior to founding Gulf Capital, Mr. El Solh was CEO of The National Investor, the leading UAE investment bank. Previously, he was the Head of Capital Markets for the European High Yield/LBO division at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ, now part of Credit Suisse), and a senior banker at Citigroup where he was in charge of new equity and equity-linked issues from the Middle East, Eastern Europe, the Indian Sub-continent & Africa.
Mr. El Solh started his career at the International Privatization Group at Price Waterhouse where he advised governments in Emerging Markets (Russia, Turkey, Philippines, Morocco, Tunisia, and Moldova amongst others) on the restructuring, turnaround, and sale of state-owned companies.
Mr. El Solh has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cornell University, an M.B.A. from Georgetown University and a Doctorate in economics (privatization) from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).
Mr. El Solh has been named as one of the Top 100 CEOs in the Gulf in 2007 by CEO Magazine and one of the 500 Most Influential Arabs in 2012 and again in 2013 by Arabian Business Magazine. He was also elected as a Global Young Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2007 and was invited to join its Global Agenda Council on Financing and Capital in 2012.
Mr. Muhannad QubbajManaging Director, Gulf Capital
Mr. Qubbaj joined Gulf Capital pre-inception, as the first employee hired by the founders. He is a Managing Director in the Private Equity Team and leads the deal origination, fundraising, and screening activities. Before joining Gulf Capital, Mr. Qubbaj was a Senior Principal at Investcorp International, where he was responsible for marketing & fundraising in the GCC and the UK, specializing in private equity, real estate, & hedge funds. Prior to Investcorp, Mr. Qubbaj was a Senior Investment Advisor at Morgan Stanley for four years in the United Kingdom, where he focused on asset management and allocation for Middle Eastern institutional clients including leading banks in the GCC and Levant area. From 1994 to 2000, Mr. Qubbaj was an investment advisor to one of the largest family investment offices in Saudi Arabia, the Abdul Latif Jameel Group focused on establishing joint ventures, purchasing companies, and investing in alternative assets.
Mr. Qubbaj holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with concentrations in Creative Writing and Economics. He is an Educational Counselor for MIT and a Rotarian.

Mr. Buffet co-founded excellenceO2 in 2009 and has more than 33 years of experience in general management, operations management, mergers and acquisitions, business growth, and turnarounds. Between 2004 and 2009, Mr. Buffet was The President of the EMEA operations of Invensys Process Systems.
As a member of the Invensys leadership team, Mr. Buffet was also the leader of the Global Services organization.
Mr. Buffet has 15 years of experience in
high-tech industries. He has worked in many market leading companies such as Microsoft, HP and Digital. He has held a wide variety of roles from CEO in application software business to senior Vice President assignments, covering corporate development & alliances, operations, sales, marketing and services. He started his career at Procter & Gamble, first in finance and then in brand management. Mr. Buffet is also a Director at Visconti-Coaching and an executive coach, a chairman of the board and board member in several companies. He has been on the boards of international trade organizations and institutes of higher education boards.
Mr. Buffet has a degree in Engineering from the Ecole Supérieure d’Electronique from Angers (France) and an M.B.A. from the University of Kansas (US).
Mr. Abdullah ShahinExecutive Director, Gulf Capital
Mr. Shahin joined Gulf Capital in 2013. He is an Executive Director with the Private Equity Team and has over 14 years of private equity and investment banking experience across the MENA region.
Mr. Shahin has worked on transactions worth over US$3 billion across the GCC, Egypt, Jordan and South Asia, spanning a wide range of sectors including fertilizers, logistics, F&B, retail, aviation, financial services, media, waste-water treatment and hospitality. Prior to joining Gulf Capital, Mr. Shahin was a Partner at Abraaj Capital. He was there for 10 years, during which time he was involved in executing and exiting some of the region’s landmark private equity transactions. He served on the boards of six portfolio companies, for which he led post-acquisition strategy development. Mr. Shahin holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University
Miles HuntIndependent Board Member
Mr. Hunt is an entrepreneur, board advisor and investor with over 20 years’ experience building successful companies. He is a former lawyer and the founder and former CEO of Empresaria, Group, a company that he built to over £200m revenues with operations in 20 countries.
He is currently Chairman of Serocor, a UK based IT and Engineering recruitment group, Chairman of the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (“APSco” ) in the UK, a director of investment company Benula Capital, and is a board advisor to a number of recruitment company boards both in the UK and internationally.
Awards include Staffing industry Entrepreneur of the Year (Recruitment International), national finalist Ernst &Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and the winner of the APSCO Award for Individual Contribution.
Mr. Hunt has a degree in Law from the University of Reading and an MBA from the University of Warwick.
